Disney on Ice Ice Baby

Last night was very special. It was Disney on Ice night.

The evening started with dinner. Shane and Nate had the choice between Firehouse, 5 Guys and Wendy's. They picked Wendy's, which was just fine with me and Jackie.

After a meal of cheeseburgers, chicken nuggets and french fries (along with some hysterical laughing) it was time to go to Nationwide!

Before we could actually get inside Jackie and I were faced with our first "best aunt ever" challenge. People were selling glow stick/sword/light saber things and told us at some point in the show they turn off all the lights and the kids wave their lights. Of course, our nephews had to have them. There goes $10....or actually $9.25... we were a little short on change but luckily the man was nice enough to give it to us anyway).

So, finally we made it inside and found our seats...our 13th row from the ice seats! Anticipation was in the air...

The next thing we heard was "Disney on Ice will begin in 5 minutes." And then, "Disney on Ice will begin in 3 minutes." EEEEEE!!!!!!!!

The lights went down, the children cheered, the music started, Mickey Mouse skated out from the curtain, and...Jackie and I both started crying.

Hahahaha. We are pathetic. Or awesome. Depends on how you look at it. We just love our Disney that much.

It was amazing.

At some point during the show Jackie and I were faced with our second "best aunt ever" challenge. The boys wanted something to eat. Something sweet. Of course, we gave in and $24 dollars later (1 cotton candy and 1 slushy in a Bruce cup) they were happy guys.

We had only one meltdown the entire evening. I took a handful of Natey's cotton candy and it did not make him happy.

We all were on such a little high afterwards. The boys ran back to the car swinging their light sabers around the entire time.

It was so fun to spoil them silly for one night. After all, that's what aunts are for.
